The MagScan MAGNETIC STRIPE READER has an Advanced Dual Track Reading Head. MagScan's ceramic reading head is rated to over 1,000,000 passes. Extremely Compact—Thanks to its miniaturized reading head and multilayer surface mount integrated decoder, MagScan is compact enough to mount on a keyboard or rest on a counter top where space is at a premium. Multi-Terminal Wedge—MagScan connects as a wedge to over 150 terminals and PC's. RS232 Output—MagScan has an on- board RS232 output port. With an optional adapter it can connect as a dual port RS232 device. Supports a Bar Code Scanner—A bar code wand, badge reader, hand-held scanners, (with wand emulation output) can be connected to the MagScan. User Programmable—All key parameters are established by the user via easy-to-use bar code menus.
MagScan is far more compact and attractive than other systems which rely on a magnetic head cabled to a decoder. MagScan can be upgraded from one terminal to another. Most upgrades merely require changing the cable and reprogramming the MagScan via easy-to-use bar code menus. By interfacing to the user's point-of-sale system, MagScan allows magnetically-encoded and bar code data to be captured automatically with minimal changes to existing hardware or software.
