An ID TECH USB converter cable takes keyboard wedge output from a PSC laser scanner and converts it to USB/Keyboard input, allowing the connection of a keyboard interface device to the USB port of a host computer. By plugging the coiled cable (which extends to a length of eight feet) directly into the scanner in place of an ordinary cable, and the other end of the converter into one of the host's USB input ports, data from the scanner will appear to the host as if entered via the keyboard.
The ID TECH Keyboard to USB Converter Cable comes in two versions. One is designed to work with PSC PowerScan and QuickScan 6000 laser scanners, while the other is designed to work with PSC 538X (small platform) and PSC 531X (large platform) scanners. Both are fully functional on a USBequipped IBM PC or PC-compatible running Windows 98 or 2000, or on an Apple computer running Mac OS 8.1 and above.If cable strain relief is desired, the pod housing the electronics is designed to accommodate a Velcro pad in a recessed portion of the housing.
